The Adoption Wait January 21, 2019
Right now my husband and I are in a season of waiting. That’s not to say that we are sitting on our hands! We are very busy with the kids and ministry. But our hearts are being pulled towards a new step of faith that we haven’t ventured into yet — adoption. We have been working on completing a home study and are now ready to pursue being matched with an expectant mother, but God is having us pause and… wait. Which probably means He is preparing our hearts a little bit more in the process of waiting.
Waiting is exhausting.
I’m not ready to say more on the topic of adoption yet, but if you are in a season of waiting, here are some verses that I draw strength from!
- “Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all the day long.” Psalm 25:5
- “May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for You.” Ps. 25:21
- “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” Ps. 27:14
- “Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!” Ps. 31:24
- “Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.” Ps. 33:20
- “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; fret not yourself…” Ps. 37:7
- “Wait for the Lord and keep His way.” Ps. 37:34
- “I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.” Ps. 130:5-6
Studying God’s Word is my greatest way to seek peace in my life when I am tempted to worry and to seek joy when I’m tempted to not be thankful. I pray that all of you are encouraged in the Lord!
